Thought you might like to know, the Royal Mint is running a great competition to design 50p pieces to celebrate the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in London. We’re looking for 27 winning designs, each showing a different sport – the sports are listed on our website.

The lucky winners will get to see their design transformed into a 50p coin and issued into circulation for everyone to see for years to come! The winners will also get £1,000 and a gold coin featuring their winning design.
